A resource consent application is being finalised to pave the way for the creation of a tiny home village on a leasehold rural site in central Motueka.
Fran and Daniel Huelsmeyer, of Ruru Homes, are behind the proposal to build a village of 30 tiny homes, to be owned by the occupiers and placed on a communal site with land leases of about 35 years. “If we stay under 35 years, we don’t have to subdivide,” Fran said.
Under the proposal, the 5ha site for the village – near the recreation centre – would be landscaped and include communal facilities such as gardens, a barbecue area, walkways and possibly a playground and shared storage….”
